This is what it looks like when you do the trip through the Samaria gorge: You step down from Omalos into a very deep dell, then go towards the deserted settlement of Samaria. From there on, you hike through the astounding gorge until you reach the town of Agia Roumeli, where you can take a swim and catch a boat back to the north.
A very worthwile trip. Be sure to start early as we did – before the busses arrive. Then you have an awesome experience. Have fun!
