Why Germany deserved the prize

While I’m not a fan of either Lena or her satellite, the reason I really grant the Eurovision Song Contest trophy to Germany is the european-wide dance flashmob that was performed during the poll process. Despite all the pusy countries that perfered to insert pre-produced clips during the 8 minute session, Germanys NDR TV station was the only one risking a live stream to Oslo. Showing just regular people celebrating the big Song Contest event and flashmobbing to the idea (at minute 5:30). Thanks to Norsk rikskringkasting station for in my eyes one of the best shows so far and for this fabolous flashmob idea with a message as well as the bold audience in Oslo, where every one seemed to have taken part at the end as well. This will be incredibly hard to beat for us next year:

And while I’m also not a fan what’s going in our European parliament in particular or the current European idea in general, events like this is just how a real European idea should look like: Multisided, decentralized, tolerant, inspiring, cultural, peaceful and above all happy.

Really considering going to the event next year.

  1. Well, ya know, the european song contest is like the EU itself: It’s the most important show in
Europe with the crapiest music. Norway just set the focus in the right spot here. 🙂
